Removal And Installation: Removal

CAUTION:
  • Before disconnecting any components, make sure the area is clean and free from foreign material. When disconnected all openings must be sealed.
  • Make sure that the tools and equipment are clean, free of foreign material and lubricant.

  • This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
  1. Always follow the fuel system health and safety precautions, when carrying out any repairs to the fuel system. Refer to:

  2. Release the fuel system pressure.

    Refer to: Fuel System Pressure Release (General Procedures).

  3. Disconnect the start up battery ground cable.

    Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect (General Procedures).

  4. Remove the engine cover.

    Refer to: Engine Cover - V6 S/C 3.0L Petrol (Removal and Installation).

  5. Remove the cowl panel.

    Refer to: Cowl Vent Screen (Removal and Installation).

    Remove the pipe and engine NVH cover.

  7. Clean the fuel injection components. Refer to: Fuel Injection Component Cleaning (General Procedures).

    Diconnect the electrical connector.

  9. CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping fluids.
