Removal And Installation: Installation

  1. Install the fuel rail and tighten the 2 retaining bolts to the correct torque.

    Torque Specification: 25 Nm 

  2. Install the fuel rail bracket and tighten the 2 bolts to the correct torque.

    Torque Specification: 11 Nm 

  3. Connect the fuel rail electrical connector.

  4. Make sure a new fuel supply pipe is installed

    Renew Part: Fuel rail supply pipe(s) Quantity: 1

  5. Install the fuel line and tighten the union to the correct torque.

    Torque Specification: 

    Stage 1: 15 Nm 

    Stage 2: 62° 

  6. Install the fuel line onto the fuel rail and tighten the union to the correct torque.

    Torque Specification: 

    Stage 1: 10 Nm 

    Stage 2: 62° 

  7. Correctly position the fuel pipe and secure in place with the fuel pipe bracket.

    Torque Specification: 11 Nm 

  8. Install the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve and tighten the 3 bolts to the correct torque.

    Torque Specification: 9 Nm 

  9. Make sure a new gasket is install to the EGR inlet pipe.

    Renew Part: EGR inlet pipe to EGR valve gasket. 

  10. Install the EGR inlet pipe and tighten the 2 bolts to the correct torque.

    Torque Specification: 11 Nm 

  11. Connect the EGR valve electrical connector.

  12. Install the fuel return pipe and connect the fuel rail electrical connector.

  13. Install the fuel rail to fuel injector high pressure fuel pipes.
    CAUTION: Make sure that new components are installed.

    Renew Part: Fuel injector high pressure pipes. 

    Torque Specification: 

    Stage 1: 10 Nm 

    Stage 2: 62° 

  14. Connect the 4 electrical connectors.

  15. Install the EGR pipe and tighten to the correct torque.
    CAUTION:
    • Install a new gasket.
    • Install a new O-ring seal.

    Renew Part: Exhaust gas recirculation O-ring seal. 

    Renew Part: Exhaust gas recirculation pipe gasket. 

    Torque Specification: 

    M6x20 7 Nm 

    M6x25 11 Nm 

  16. Connect the fuel supply pipes and secure with the 2 retaining clips.

  17. Install the fuel pipe and secure with the retaining clip.

  18. Connect the 2 fuel pipes and secure in position with the retaining clip.

  19. Install the oil gauge bracket and tighten to the correct torque.

    Torque Specification: 11 Nm 

  20. Connect the startup battery ground cable.

    Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .

  21. Bleed the fuel system.
    CAUTION: Bleed the fuel system by cranking the engine to purge the air from the system.

    Refer to: Fuel System Bleeding .

  22. Install the NVH material.

  23. Install the engine cover.

    Refer to: Engine Cover - INGENIUM I4 2.0L Diesel .
