Removal And Installation: Removal

CAUTION: Nuts and bolts must be tightened with vehicle at normal ride height.
NOTE:

  • This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

    Refer to JACKING AND LIFTING .

  2. Refer to: Front Shock Absorber - AWD  or Front Shock Absorber - RWD  (Removal and Installation).
  3. Refer to: Windshield Wiper Pivot Arm (Removal and Installation).
  4. G11305494

    Remove the cowl panel.

  5. CAUTION: Discard the nut.

    Remove and discard the nut.

    Renew Part: Upper control arm nut(s) Quantity: 1.

    Torque Specification:

    • Stage 1: 35 Nm 
    • Stage 2: 60° 
  6. G11305496

    Release the harness and disconnect the electrical connector.

  7. G11305497

    Remove the bolt and move the coolant expansion tank.

    Torque Specification: 9 Nm 

  8. CAUTION: Remove and discard the nut.
    G11305498

    Renew Part: Upper control arm nut(s) Quantity: 1.

    Torque Specifications:

    • Stage 1: 35 Nm 
    • Stage 2: 60° 
  9. G11305499

    Remove the upper arm.

  10. G11305500

    Torque Specifications: 9 Nm
