Removal And Installation: Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
    WARNING: Make sure to support the vehicle with axle stands.
  2. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

    Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .

  3. Refer to: Accessory Drive Belt .
  4. Refer to: Charge Air Radiator .

    Torque Specification: 12 Nm 

  7. G11308990

    Torque Specification: 90 Nm 

  8. Install special tool JLR-303-1630 to crankshaft damper. Make sure central hub is located correctly.
    NOTE: Only rotate the crankshaft clockwise.

    Special Tool(s):  JLR-303-1630

  9. Remove four crankshaft damper bolts.

  10. Remove crankshaft damper.

  11. Using the special tool remove and discard the front crankshaft seal.
