Transmission - INGENIUM I4 2.0L Petrol (G2044698): Installation: Part(S)

- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
Remove the 3 bolts and the torque converter transportation brace.

CAUTION: Apply grease of the correct specification to the torque converter spigot.
Make sure the torque converter is fitted with the measurements as show.
Install the transmission plug.
Install the emergency park release lever and the nut.
Torque : 12 Nm
Install the transmission covers.

CAUTION:
- Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.
- Apply grease of the correct specification to the input shaft.
- Make sure the transfer case bolts are installed in the correct orientation.
Install the transfer case and the bolts.
Refer to: SPECIFICATIONS
Torque : 43 Nm
Install the wiring harness.
Connect the plug and install clips.

CAUTION: Care must be taken not to damage the component.NOTE: Make sure the electrical connector is correctly secured.
Install the electrical connector and secure the 3 clips.
Install the heatshield.
Torque : 9 Nm
Install the exhaust bracket.
Torque : 25 Nm

CAUTION:
- Make sure the seal is installed correctly.
- To prevent water ingress and subsequent transmission damage, make sure that the breather is fully pushed home into the transmission casing. The white line around the circumference of the pipe should not be visible when correctly installed.
Install the transmission breather.

NOTE: Do not fully tighten at this stage.
Install the transfer case mounting finger tight.

WARNING: This step requires the aid of another technician.CAUTION:
- Make sure that the transmission is secured with suitable retaining straps.

- Care must be taken to avoid damaging the surrounding components.
- Make sure that the torque converter remains in the transmission.
NOTE: Remove and discard the tie straps securing the torque converter.Install the transmission.
Install the bolts.
Torque : 48 Nm
Install the bolts.
Torque : 48 Nm
Install the bolts in the correct orientation.
Torque : 48 Nm
- Using a suitable stand, support the transmission.
General Equipment: Transmission jack
- Install the 5 bolts.
Torque : 45 Nm
- Fully tighten the transfer case mounting bolt shown in step 13.
Torque : 48 Nm
- Using a suitable stand, support the transmission.

NOTE: Only turn the engine in the normal direction of rotation.
Install 4 new torque converter bolts.
Renew Part: Torque converter bolts Quantity: 4 .
Torque : 65 Nm
Install the wiring harness bracket.
Torque : 10 Nm
Connect the wiring harness and the clips.
Install the clips.
Connect the electrical connector and install the bolt.
Torque : 10 Nm
Secure the clips.
Connect the emergency park release lever.
Torque : 11 Nm

CAUTION:
- Be prepared to collect escaping fluids.
- Make sure that new O-ring seals are installed.
NOTE: Remove and discard the blanking caps.Install the transmission cooler pipes.
Renew Part: Transmission fluid cooler tubes to transmission O-ring seals Quantity: 2 .
Torque : 22 Nm
Install the bolt.
Torque : 22 Nm
- Install the driveshaft.

- Install the starter motor.
Refer to: STARTER MOTOR
- Install the front driveshaft.
Refer to: FRONT DRIVESHAFT - AWD
Install the breather nuts
Torque : 22 Nm
Remove the engine support beam.
Install the clip.
- Install the cowl panel.
Refer to: COWL PANEL
- Install the engine cover.
Refer to: ENGINE COVER - INGENIUM I4 2.0L PETROL
- Connect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
- Check the transmission fluid level.
Refer to: TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL CHECK

- If a new Transmission Assembly is installed. The Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment must be used to calibrate the module.
- Select 'Transmission Control Module [TCM]'
- Select 'Replace ECU'
- Follow all on-screen instructions to complete this task.
