| Hydraulic jib crane |
- Be prepared to collect escaping fuel.
- Be prepared to collect escaping engine coolant.
- All the components removed from the old engine must be cleaned and inspected before installing to the new engine. Any worn or damaged components or clips must be replaced.
- Before disconnecting any components, make sure the area is clean and free from foreign material. When disconnected all openings must be sealed.
- Note the orientation of the component prior to removal.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

- Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT .
- Always follow the fuel system health and safety precautions when doing any repairs to the fuel system. Refer to: PETROL AND PETROL-ETHANOL FUEL SYSTEMS HEALTH AND SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
- Depressurize the fuel system.
Refer to: FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE .
- Remove the hood.
Refer to: HOOD .
- Remove the secondary bulkhead right inner panel.
Refer to: SECONDARY BULKHEAD RIGHT INNER PANEL - PROJECT 8 .
- Remove the secondary bulkhead left inner panel.
Refer to: SECONDARY BULKHEAD LEFT INNER PANEL - PROJECT 8 .
- Drain the cooling system.
Refer to: COOLING SYSTEM PARTIAL DRAINING AND VACUUM FILLING .
- Remove the cooling fan motor and shroud.
Refer to: ELECTRIC COOLING FAN AND SHROUD .
- Remove both front halfshafts.
Refer to: FRONT HALFSHAFT .
- Remove the transmission.
Refer to: TRANSMISSION - V8 S/C 5.0L PETROL, PROJECT 8 .
Disconnect the 2 connectors and remove the coolant pipe.
- Release the 2 coolant hose clips.
- Disconnect the 3 coolant hose connectors.
- Release the coolant hose assembly from the 2 clips.
- Remove the coolant hose assembly.
- Disconnect the 5 coolant hose connectors.
- Remove the coolant hose assembly.
Disconnect the 2 coolant hoses.
- Disconnect the 2 coolant hoses.
- Release the coolant hose from the clip.
- Remove the coolant hose assembly.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Release the wiring harness clip.
- Disconnect the coolant hose.

WARNING:
- Be prepared to collect escaping fuel.
- This procedure involves fuel handling. Be prepared for fuel spillage at all times and always observe fuel handling precautions. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
- Disconnect the fuel line.
- Disconnect the breather pipe.
Disconnect the 2 vacuum pipe connectors.
- Remove the oil filler cap.
- Remove the 2 Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) materials.
- Install the oil filler cap.
- Use a suitable tool to release the accessory drive belt tensioner.
- Reposition the accessory drive belt away from the Air Conditioning (A/C) pulley and release the tension.

CAUTION: Make sure that there is no tension on the A/C pipes when the A/C compressor bolts are removed. Use suitable equipment to support the A/C compressor.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Release the wiring harness clip.
- Remove the 3 bolts and position the A/C compressor away from the engine.
Remove the cover.
Remove the nut and reposition the cable away from the engine.
Remove the bolt.
Remove the bolt and the coolant hose support bracket.
Install the special tool.
Special Tool(s): 303-1436
Torque: 40Nm

NOTE: Repeat this step for the other side.
Install the special tool.
Special Tool(s): 303-1435
Torque: 40Nm
Remove the left engine mount nut.
Remove the right engine mount nut.

WARNING: This step requires the aid of another technician.
Use suitable lifting equipment to remove the engine assembly.
