Luggage Compartment Lid (G2416346): Installation

  1. CAUTION: This step requires the assistance of another technician.
    • With assistance, install the luggage compartment lid.
    • Install, but do not fully tighten the 6 nuts.
  2. Check the luggage compartment lid alignment, adjust if required.
  3. Tighten the 6 nuts.

    Torque  : 25 Nm 

    • Connect the 10 electrical connectors.
    • Install the 7 clips.
  5. Install the luggage compartment trim panel.

    Refer to: LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LID TRIM PANEL

  6. NOTE: Repeat this step for the other side.

    Install the cover.

  7. NOTE:
    • Only do this step if a new tailgate has been installed.
    • For successful adhesion, the temperature of the badge adhesive must be at least 20°C. Heat the component if required.
    • The temperature difference between the badge adhesive and the vehicle surface must be less than 5°C.
    • The new tailgate badge is supplied on a cassette which is highlighted in blue on the illustration.

    • Clean the area prior to installation of the tailgate badge with a suitable cleaner.
    • Install the tailgate badge to the dimensions shown in the illustration.
  8. NOTE:
    • Only do this step if a new tailgate has been installed.
    • For successful adhesion, the temperature of the badge adhesive must be at least 20°C. Heat the component if required.
    • The temperature difference between the badge adhesive and the vehicle surface must be less than 5°C.
    • The new tailgate badge is supplied on a cassette which is highlighted in blue on the illustration.

  9. CAUTION: This step is for tailgate badges with cassettes measuring 130 mm x 70 mm only.
    NOTE:
    • Only do this step if a new tailgate has been installed.
    • For successful adhesion, the temperature of the badge adhesive must be at least 20°C. Heat the component if required.
    • The temperature difference between the badge adhesive and the vehicle surface must be less than 5°C.
    • The new tailgate badge is supplied on a cassette which is highlighted in blue on the illustration.

    • The new tailgate badge is supplied on a cassette which is highlighted in blue on the illustration.
