Air Conditioning System Recovery, Evacuation And Charging (G2245536): Recovery

CAUTION:
- The Air Conditioning (A/C) system must be put into service mode, using the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) approved diagnostic equipment, before attempting a system recovery. This will open valves in the A/C system. Failure to follow this instruction may result in an unsuccessful refrigerant recovery or recharge.
- The valves in the Air Conditioning (A/C) system will remain open for 60 minutes, after this time they will automatically close. Once the A/C system service mode is activated the A/C system must be recovered or charged immediately.
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- Remove the front compartment left trim panel.

CAUTION: Make sure the area is clean and free of foreign material.
Remove the dust covers from the high and low pressure connection.
- Connect the high and low pressure lines to the appropriate connections.
- Connect the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) approved battery support unit.
- Connect the JLR approved diagnostic equipment to the vehicle and begin a new diagnostic session.

- Follow the JLR approved diagnostic tool prompts.

- Select 'Air Conditioning Refrigerant Service Mode'
- Follow the on-screen instructions.

- Following the manufacturer's instructions, recover the refrigerant from the Air Conditioning (A/C) system.
- Measure and record the quantity of refrigerant oil recovered from the system.
