Stepper Motors

SYMPTOM POSSIBLE CAUSES ACTION
Lack of air being emitted through the various air vents when selected
  • Missing initialization/calibration for stepper motor(s)
  • Using the Jaguar Land Rover Approved Diagnostic Equipment, check the HVAC Control Module for related DTC  and refer to the relevant DTC  index
  • If stepper motor related DTC  are set, other than those listed in the stepper motors symptom article, then investigate and rectify as necessary, otherwise follow the step below
  • Using the Jaguar Land Rover Approved Diagnostic Equipment clear the DTC  then perform routine - Actuator Initialization (0x9006). Complete the stepper motor initialization process and retest. Perform routine - On Demand Self Test (0x0202). Check the HVAC Control Module for related DTC  and refer to the relevant DTC  index
  • If after following the stepper motor initialization process there are no further DTC  and air flow is still lacking in one or more vents, then the fault is not electrical. Investigate for broken linkages or blockages in the ducts GO to PINPOINT TEST F .
  • Recirculation motor not engaging/stuck in a position, DTC  - B1083-13, B1083-71
  • Left front temperature blend motor not engaging/stuck in a position, DTC  - B1352-49, B1352-77, B1352-87, B1352-92
  • Right front temperature blend motor not engaging/stuck in a position, DTC  - B1366-49, B1366-77, B1366-87, B1366-92
  • Left rear temperature blend motor not engaging/stuck in a position, DTC  - B1364-49, B1364-77, B1364-87, B1364-92
  • Right rear temperature blend motor not engaging/stuck in a position, DTC  - B1354-49, B1354-77, B1354-87, B1354-92
  • Left auxiliary climate control temperature blend motor not engaging/stuck in a position, DTC  - B13F2-49, B13F2-77, B13F2-87, B13F2-92
  • Right auxiliary climate control temperature blend motor not engaging/stuck in a position, DTC  - B13F3-49, B13F3-77, B13F3-87, B13F3-97
  • Front cool air bypass motor not engaging/stuck in a position, DTC  - B13EE-49, B13EE-77, B13EE-87, B13EE-92
  • Demist distribution motor not engaging/stuck in a position, DTC  - B1085-49, B1085-77, B1085-87, B1085-92
  • Left front face/feet distribution motor not engaging/stuck in a position, DTC  - B13EF-49, B13EF-77, B13EF-87, B13EF-92
  • Right front face/feet distribution motor not engaging/stuck in a position, DTC  - B13F0-49, B13F0-77, B13F0-87, B13F0-92
  • Rear face/feet distribution motor not engaging/stuck in a position, DTC  - B1B7D-49, B1B7D-77, B1B7D-87, B1B7D-92
  • Auxiliary climate control face/feet distribution motor not engaging/stuck in a position, DTC  - B13F1-49, B13F1-77, B13F1-87, B13F1-92
  • Stepper motor jammed or broken
  • Wiring fault
  • Stepper motor internal failure
  • HVAC Control Module failure
