Pinpoint Test E: Low And High Pressure System Pressures Too High Tests

  1. E1: LOW AND HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM PRESSURES TOO HIGH TEST 1 
    1. Start the vehicle - READY - will be displayed on the instrument cluster
    2. Set the air conditioning to on
    3. Check the operation of the electric cooling fan and grille

      Is the electric cooling fan operating and the active grille open?

      Yes  : GO to E2.

      No  : Check for foreign objects jamming the electric cooling fan. Refer to the electrical circuit diagrams and check the electric cooling fan circuit for short circuit to ground, short circuit to power, open circuit, high resistance. Repair the circuit as necessary

  2. E2: LOW AND HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM PRESSURES TOO HIGH TEST 2 
    1. Start the vehicle - READY - will be displayed on the instrument cluster
    2. Check the air conditioning condenser for external obstructions

      Are any external obstructions present?

      Yes  : Repair as necessary

      No  : GO to E3.

  3. E3: LOW AND HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM PRESSURES TOO HIGH TEST 3 
    1. Start the vehicle - READY - will be displayed on the instrument cluster
    2. Using the Jaguar Land Rover Approved Equipment, recover the refrigerant
    3. Compare the weight of the recovered refrigerant to that specified for the vehicle

      Was the weight of the recovered refrigerant greater than specified for the air conditioning system?

      Yes  : Using the Jaguar Land Rover Approved Equipment, evacuate and recharge the air conditioning system with the correct quantity of refrigerant

      No  : Check for any blockages in the isolation valve 3 and the fixed orifice tube. Repair as necessary
