Front Door (G2201935): Removal

WARNING:

To avoid accidental deployment, the restraints control module backup power supply must be depleted. Wait at least 2 minutes after disconnecting the 12 V system before commencing any repair or adjustment to the Supplementary Restraint System (SRS), or any component(s) adjacent to the SRS sensors. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
Do not probe SRS electrical connectors.

CAUTION: Protect the surrounding paintwork to avoid damage.

This procedure contains some variation in the illustration depending on the vehicle specification, but essential information is always correct.
This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.

Lower the front door window.
Make the airbag SRS safe.
Refer to: SUPPLEMENTARY RESTRAINT SYSTEM HEALTH AND SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
Disconnect the 12 V system.
Refer to: 12V SYSTEM DISCONNECT .

- Remove the bolt.
- Detach the front door check arm from the A-pillar.

Disconnect the front door wiring harness from the body wiring harness.
WARNING: The component(s) may be heavy. Take extra care when handling.

NOTE: This step requires the aid of another technician.

- Remove the 2 bolts.
- With assistance, remove the front door.
NOTE: Do not disassemble further if the front door is removed for access only.

Remove the door mirror.

Refer to: DOOR MIRROR .
Remove the front door window.
Refer to: FRONT DOOR WINDOW .
Remove the front door fixed window.
Refer to: FRONT DOOR FIXED WINDOW .
Remove the front door window regulator.
Refer to: FRONT DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR .
Remove the front door latch assembly.
Refer to: FRONT DOOR LATCH .
Remove the front door bass speaker.
Refer to: FRONT DOOR BASS SPEAKER .
NOTE: Mark the position of the component prior to removal.

Remove the front door aperture weatherstrip.

- Remove the foam block.
- Remove the 2 nuts.
- Remove the check arm.

- Remove the 4 bolts.
- Remove the 2 front door hinges.

Remove the front door window runner seal.

- Remove the 4 bolts.
- Remove the front door frame finisher.

Remove the front door frame trim.

- Remove the 4 clips.
- Remove the front door lower trim.

Remove the front door wiring harness.
CAUTION: Use a suitable trim tool.

Release the 11 clips.

- Rotate the front door lower moulding.
- Unhook the front door lower moulding from the front door.
