The Integrated Control Panel (ICP) is installed in the center of the instrument panel.
The ICP contains rotary switches and dependent on vehicle specification, a lower Touchscreen (TS) and/or switches for the operation of the climate control system. The ICP converts the climate control selections into private Controller Area Network (CAN) bus messages and transmits them to the HVAC control module.
The ICP has switches to control the climate in the passenger compartment, including the following:
- Air intake or recirculation.
- Air flow direction in the passenger compartment.
- Air flow rate.
- Air Conditioning (A/C).
- Zone temperatures.
- Heated rear window.
- Maximum A/C.
- Heated windshield (if equipped).
The 'AUTO' function allows the HVAC to adjust the air flow and distribution.
The 'SYNC' function synchronizes the passenger climate settings with the driver climate settings.
All versions of the ICP have a 12 pin connector to the main wiring harness. The 12 pin connector has these electric connections:
- A fused power supply from the Quiescent Current Control Module (QCCM).
- Private CAN bus (quantity 2).
- Audio volume control switch (quantity 5).
- Ground connection.
- The other connector pins are not used.
The audio volume control switch data is sent to the Infotainment Master Controller (IMC) through the private CAN bus to the HVAC. The HVAC then transmits the data to the IMC on the High Speed (HS) CAN Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems bus.
The ICP with the lower TS has 2 additional wiring harness connectors from the Automotive Pixel Link 2 (APIX2) connections. The APIX2 connectors connect the lower TS to the IMC and the upper TS through the main wiring harness.
