The refrigerant pipes and hoses along with the 5 valve blocks and the 2 check valves connect all the Air Conditioning (A/C) system components together. The hoses, pipes and valve blocks contain the refrigerant in the A/C system and enables the refrigerant to flow to the following components when required:
- The electric A/C compressor
- The recovery heat exchanger
- The A/C isolation valves (5 off)
- The front A/C isolation valves
- The A/C orifice tube for the evaporator
- The evaporator in the climate control assembly
- The A/C accumulator
- The A/C silencer
- The Electric Vehicle (EV) battery cooler
- The electric drive cooler
- The climate control indirect condenser.
The check valves allow the flow of refrigerant in only 1 direction. They stop the flow of refrigerant in the other direction.
The refrigerant pipes also incorporate the Low Pressure (LP) and High Pressure (HP) A/C refrigerant service connections.
