Front Air Conditioning Isolation Valve
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2021 Jaguar I-Pace, 2020 Jaguar I-Pace, and 2019 Jaguar I-Pace. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The front Air Conditioning (A/C) isolation valve stops the circulation of refrigerant to the evaporator in the climate control assembly when:
- Electric Vehicle (EV) battery and/or electric drive temperature control system cooling is required.
- Dehumidification is not required.
- The EV battery is charging and EV battery cooling is required.
The front A/C isolation valve is normally open, when power is applied, the refrigerant flow to the evaporator in the climate control assembly stops. This is done when no cooling is required for the passenger compartment.
The A/C front isolation valve has a 2-pin connector to the wiring harness. The 2-pin connector has the following electrical connections:
- A 12V signal from the HVAC.
- A ground connection.
