The Air Conditioning (A/C) temperature pressure sensors provide the HVAC control module with refrigerant temperature and pressure data from the A/C system.
There are 4 A/C temperature pressure sensors to make sure that the A/C system operates correctly.

DESCRIPTION |
ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR |
| A/C temperature pressure sensor - Compressor outlet |
- High Pressure (HP) sensor on the electric A/C compressor outlet side of the A/C system.
- Makes sure that the A/C system does not exceed the maximum operational pressure.
- The sensor is hardwired to the HVAC control module.
- A 4-pin connector to the wiring harness.
|
- The 4-pin connector has the following electrical connections to the HVAC:
- Electrical 5V power supply
- Temperature signal
- Pressure signal
- Ground connection.
|
| A/C temperature pressure sensor - Compressor inlet |
- Low Pressure (LP) sensor on the electric A/C compressor inlet side for the A/C system.
- Makes sure that there is sufficient refrigerant in the A/C system for the electric A/C compressor by monitoring the refrigerant temperature and pressure.
- The sensor is hardwired to the HVAC.
- A 4-pin connector to the wiring harness.
|
- The 4-pin connector has the following electrical connections to the HVAC:
- Electrical 5V power supply
- Temperature signal
- Pressure signal
- Ground connection.
|
| A/C temperature pressure sensor - Recovery heat exchanger outlet |
- LP sensor on the outlet side of the recovery heat exchanger when it operates as a evaporator.
- Used to determine the amount of heat recovered from the recovery heat exchanger.
- The sensor is hardwired to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
- The sensor data is sent from the PCM to the HVAC through the High Speed (HS) Controller Area Network (CAN) power mode zero systems bus.
- A 4-pin connector to the wiring harness.
|
- The 4-pin connector has the following electrical connections to the PCM:
- Electrical 5V power supply
- Temperature signal
- Pressure signal
- Ground connection.
|
| A/C temperature pressure sensor - Electric drive cooler |
- LP sensor on the outlet side of the electric drive cooler.
- Monitor the temperature of the refrigerant only.
- Used to determine the amount of heat recovered from the electric drive temperature control system.
- The sensor is hardwired to the HVAC.
- A 4-pin connector to the wiring harness.
|
- The 4-pin connector has the following electrical connections to the HVAC:
- Electrical 5V power supply
- Temperature signal
- Ground connection
- Only 3 electrical connections used.
