Spring - V8 S/C 5.0L Petrol (G2496455): Installation

CAUTION: Only compress the spring enough to install to the vehicle. Over compressing the spring may result in damage to the spring.
NOTE:
- Only complete this step if a new spring is being installed.
- Make sure the spring is compressed to the exact measurements taken on the removal step.
- Install the 2 spring seats.
- Install the special tool to the spring.
  Special Tool(s): JLR-204-854
NOTE: Note the alignment of the spring to the lower control arm.

Install the coil spring.
Remove the special tool from the spring.
Special Tool(s): JLR-204-854
CAUTION: Take extra care when handling the assembly. Failure to follow this instruction might result in damage to the CV or the CV boot.

- Raise the lower arm hydraulic stand.
  General Equipment: Vehicle/axle stands
- Connect the wheel knuckle to the lower arm.
- Install and tighten the new bolt and nut.
  Renew Part: Rear lower arm to knuckle nut Quantity: 1 .
  
  Renew Part: Rear lower arm to knuckle bolt Quantity: 1 .
  
  Torque
  
  Stage 1: 110 Nm
  
  Stage 2: 60°
- Install the stabilizer bar link.
- Install and tighten the new nut.
  Renew Part: Stabilizer bar link retaining nut(s) Quantity: 1 .
  
  Torque
  
  Stage 1: 40 Nm
  
  Stage 2: 45°
- Install the 2 integral links.
- Install and tighten the 2 new nuts and bolts.
  Renew Part: Integral link bolts Quantity: 2 .
  
  Renew Part: Integral link nuts Quantity: 2 .
  
  Torque
  
  Stage 1: 48 Nm
  
  Stage 2: 60°
Install the 2 wiring harness grommets.
- Connect the tie-rod to the wheel knuckle.
- Install and tighten the new nut and bolt.
  Renew Part: Tie-rod to knuckle bolt Quantity: 1 .
  
  Renew Part: Tie-rod to knuckle nut Quantity: 1 .
  
  Torque
  
  Stage 1: 80 Nm
  
  Stage 2: 60°
- Connect the shock absorber to the wheel knuckle.
- Install and tighten the new nut and bolt.
  Renew Part: Shock absorber to wheel knuckle mounting nut Quantity: 1 .
  
  Renew Part: Shock absorber to wheel knuckle mounting bolt Quantity: 1 .
  
  Torque : 170 Nm
- Install the suspension height sensor link to the lower control arm.
- Remove the vehicle stands.
  General Equipment: Vehicle/axle stands
- Install the rear wheel and tire.

Use the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) approved wheel alignment equipment, check and if necessary adjust the wheel alignment. SRO 576599 Wheel Alignment Administration to be claimed separately.
