Wheel Knuckle, Wheel Hub And Bearing

ITEM DESCRIPTION
1 Bush - Integral link
2 Wheel knuckle
3 Cross axis joint - Lower control arm to wheel knuckle
4 Wheel bearing
5 Circlip
6 Wheel hub
7 Wheel stud (quantity 5)
8 Nut - Rear halfshaft to wheel hub
9 Cross-axis joint - Wheel knuckle to tie arm

The wheel knuckle is an aluminum casting which provides for the attachment of the upper and lower control arms and tie arm.

The wheel knuckle also provides the mounting locations for the following:

The wheel hub assembly comprises a splined drive flange and wheel studs. A bearing is pressed into the knuckle and a circlip positioned to assist in retaining the bearing. The hub is then pressed into the bearing. The driveshaft locates into the splines of the hub assembly and is secured with a nut.

The hub nut tightening procedure must be followed closely to make sure the correct pressure is applied across the bearing for the optimum running parameters to be achieved
