Catalytic Converter - Vehicles With: Row Specification (G2020235): Removal

NOTE:

The following step(s) applies to:
All vehicles
- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: LIFTING .
General Equipment: 2 post lift
- Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT .
- Remove the engine cover.
Refer to: ENGINE COVER - INGENIUM I4 2.0L PETROL .
- Remove the exhaust system.
Refer to: EXHAUST SYSTEM - INGENIUM I4 2.0L PETROL (G2020236) .
The following step(s) applies to:
Right hand drive vehicles
- Remove and discard the bolt.
- Disconnect the steering column lower shaft from the steering gear.
The following step(s) applies to:
All vehicles
Remove the clip.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Remove the turbocharger heatshield.
Remove the upper Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S).
Special Tool(s): 310-121
- Disconnect the pre-catalytic converter HO2S electrical connector.
- Release the sensor wiring from the retaining clip.
- Release the catalytic converter from the turbocharger.
- Using a suitable tool, remove and discard the clamp.
- Remove and discard the gasket.
- Remove the 2 clips.
- Remove the centre heatshield.
- Remove the clip.
- Remove the bolt.
- Remove the right heatshield.
- Loosen, but do not fully remove the 2 bolts.
- Remove the catalytic converter.
Remove the pre-catalytic converter HO2S from the catalytic converter assembly.
