DTC P2183-62: Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor 2 Circuit Range/Performance - Signal compare failure: Action
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
NOTE:
Check that the customer has not activated the remote passenger compartment heater (if installed). Deactivate the remote passenger compartment heater before continuing
- Vehicle Conditions to enable DTC Logging Strategy
- Engine fully warm greater than 90C°, Drive vehicle under steady-state at freeway speeds, switching between dynamic and normal mode for 3 minutes in each mode, when using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, record temperatures at start and monitor for movement
- Prioritized Checks to Perform
- When the engine is cold, turn on ignition and then, using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment compare datalogger signals - Engine Coolant Temperature 1 and Engine Coolant Temperature 2 (0xF467) -
- Note and compare the recorded temperatures from coolant temperature sensor 1 with those of coolant temperature sensor 2. If there is a difference greater than 10°C, this indicates a temperature sensor failure
- Inspect connectors for signs of water ingress, and pins for damage and/or corrosion
- Refer to the electrical circuit diagrams and check the radiator outlet temperature sensor circuit for short circuit to ground, short circuit to power, open circuit, high resistance. Repair the wiring harness or install a new radiator outlet temperature sensor as necessary
