Fuel Pump And Fuel Level Sensor (G2263790): Removal

WARNING:
Place the vehicle in a well ventilated, quarantined area and arrange ' No Smoking/Petrol Fumes' signs around the vehicle.
CAUTION:
Before disconnecting any components, make sure the area is clean and free from foreign material. When disconnected all openings must be sealed.
NOTE:

- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
The following step(s) applies to:
All vehicles
- Before working on the fuel system make sure to study the fuel system health and safety information.
Refer to: PETROL AND PETROL-ETHANOL FUEL SYSTEMS HEALTH AND SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
- Release the fuel pressure.
Refer to: FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE
- Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
- Remove the second row seat cushion.
Refer to: SECOND ROW SEAT CUSHION - VEHICLES WITH: PERFORMANCE SEATS
Remove the access cover.
Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors.
The following step(s) applies to:
Vehicles without fuel fired booster heater
Disconnect the 2 fuel lines.
Cut the top from the fuel drain port.
The following step(s) applies to:
Vehicles with fuel fired booster heater
Disconnect the 3 fuel lines.
The following step(s) applies to:
All vehicles

NOTE: A fuel vacuum drain unit must be attached to the special tool to achieve full fuel tank drain.
- Connect the fuel drain adapter to the fuel pump.
Special Tool(s): 310-154
- Drain the fuel tank.
- Connect the fuel drain adapter to the fuel pump.
- Install the special tool.
Special Tool(s): 310-123
- Remove the fuel pump locking ring.
- Install the special tool.
- Release the fuel pump.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Disconnect the 2 fuel lines.
- Remove the fuel pump.
Remove and discard the O-ring seal.
