Oil Pan - RWD (G2043356): Removal

NOTE:

- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

- Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT (G2623442) .
- Drain the engine oil.
Refer to: ENGINE OIL VACUUM DRAINING AND FILLING (G1997675) .
- Remove the front subframe.
Refer to: FRONT SUBFRAME - INGENIUM I4 2.0L PETROL (G2496345) .
- Remove the crankshaft pulley.
Refer to: CRANKSHAFT PULLEY (G1997933) .
- Remove the 3 Air Conditioning (A/C) retaining bolts.
- Reposition the A/C compressor away from the engine.
- Remove the 2 drive belt pulley dust caps.
- Remove the 2 retaining bolts.
- Remove the 2 drive belt pulleys.
- Remove the 12 retaining bolts.
- Remove the front timing cover.

CAUTION: Inspect the O-ring seal, install a new component if damaged.
Remove the oil level gauge.
Release the transmission fluid cooler tubes.
- Remove the 2 wiring harness bracket retaining bolts.
- Remove the wiring harness bracket.
- Remove the 4 oil pan Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) material retaining clips.
- Remove the NVH material.
Remove the 4 retaining bolts securing the transmission assembly to the oil pan assembly.
Remove the 17 oil pan retaining bolts.

NOTE: Loosen, but do not fully remove the bolts.
Partially remove the remaining 2 oil pan retaining bolts.
Using a suitable prybar, release the oil pan assembly.

CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping fluids.
Fully remove the remaining 2 sump retaining bolts.
