Electric Park Brake Switch

The EPB is manually applied and released using the Park button, which is located in the GSM. When stationary, pushing the Park button selects PARK in the transmission and also applies the EPB. The EPB can also be released by pressing and holding the Park button for 1 second when the brake pedal is also pressed.
The Park button contains a pair of microswitches and has 4 hardwired connections with the Integrated Power Brake control module. This enables the Integrated Power Brake control module to perform a plausibility check on each switch selection.
When the Park button is operated, the Integrated Power Brake control module activates the actuators to apply the EPB.
