Instrument Panel Console (G2502358): Removal
WARNING:
- Take extra care when handling Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) components.
- To avoid accidental deployment, the Restraints Control Module (RCM) backup power supply must be depleted. Wait at least 1 minute after disconnecting the startup battery ground cable(s) before commencing any repair or adjustment to the SRS , or any component(s) adjacent to the SRS sensors. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
- To minimize the possibility of premature deployment, do not use radio key code savers when working on the Supplemental Restraint System SRS. Failure to follow this instruction may result in personal injury.
- Do not probe Supplemental Restraint System SRS electrical connectors.
CAUTION:
- Do not use excessive force to remove the component. Make sure that all fixings are fully released.
- Use a suitable plastic trim tool to release the component.
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- This procedure contains illustrations for left hand drive vehicles, right hand drive vehicles are similar.
- Make sure that all the clips are correctly installed.
- Disconnect the 12 V system.

- Remove the floor console.

- Remove the clockspring.

- Remove the Instrument Panel Cluster Control Module (IPC).
Refer to: INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER
- Remove the glovebox.
Refer to: GLOVEBOX
- Remove the instrument panel lower trim panel.
Refer to: INSTRUMENT PANEL LOWER TRIM PANEL

NOTE: Repeat this step for the other side.
Remove the A-pillar trim panel.

- Remove the Interactive Display Module 'A' (IDMA)
Refer to: INTERACTIVE DISPLAY MODULE 'A'
- Remove the instrument panel speaker.
Refer to: INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER
- Release the 6 clips.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the sunload sensor.
- Remove the demist vent trim panel.

NOTE: Repeat this step for the other side.
- Release the 4 clips.
- Remove the instrument panel side speaker.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the side speaker.
- Release the 2 wiring harness clips.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Release 2 bracket clips.
- Remove the passive entry transceiver and bracket assembly.
- Release the 2 antenna clips.
- Reposition the 2 bluetooth® antennas away from the instrument panel console.
Release the wiring harness clip.
- Remove the 6 screws.
- Remove the instrument panel center carrier.
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors from the duct air temperature sensors.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the air ionizer.
Disconnect the 3 electrical connectors from the passenger airbag.
Remove the 2 upper bolts.

NOTE: Repeat this step for the other side.
Remove the driver side bolt.
Remove the 2 screws.
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors from the Head Up Display (HUD).
- With assistance, remove the instrument panel console from the 2 mounting brackets.

- Only complete the following step(s) if a new component is to be installed.
- Repeat this step for the other side.
- Remove the screw.
- Remove the A-pillar outer air duct.
- Remove the 2 screws.
- Remove the driver side A-pillar inner air duct.
- Remove the 4 screws.
- Remove the HUD.
- Remove the 3 screws.
- Remove the driver side air duct.
- Remove the 2 screws.
- Remove the passenger side A-pillar inner air duct.
- Remove the 3 screws.
- Remove the passenger air duct.
- Remove the 8 nut.
- Remove the passenger airbag.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Release the 8 clips.
- Remove the center bracket.
- Remove the 2 screws.
- Disconnect the ionizer hose.
- Remove the air ionizer.
