Instrument Panel Cluster (G2501886): Installation

  1. NOTE: If equipped.
    • Install the 4 clips.
    • Connect the 3 electrical connectors.
    • Install the instrument panel cluster.
    • Install and tighten the 2 lower screws and 2 grommets.

      Torque  : 1 Nm 

    • Install and tighten the 2 upper screws.

      Torque  : 1.5 Nm 

    • Connect the 2 electrical connectors to the IPC. 
    • Install the IPC. 
    • Install and tighten the 2 lower screws and 2 grommets.

      Torque  : 1 Nm 

    • Install and tighten the 2 upper screws.

      Torque  : 1.5 Nm 

    • Connect the electrical connector to the in-vehicle temperature sensor.
    • Install the instrument cluster trim.
    • Make sure the 8 clips are correctly installed.
    • Install and tighten the 2 screws.

      Torque  : 1.5 Nm 

    • Install the passenger side face air vent.
    • Make sure the 18 clips are correctly installed.
    • Install and tighten the 5 screws.

      Torque  : 3.5 Nm 

    • Install the driver side face air vent.
    • Make sure the 4 clips are correctly installed.
    • Install and tighten the screw.

      Torque  : 1.5 Nm 

    • Connect the electrical connector to the ambience lighting.
    • Install the passenger side ambience lighting.
    • Install and tighten the 2 inner screws.

      Torque  : 1.5 Nm 

    • Install and tighten the 2 outer screws.

      Torque  : 0.8 Nm 

    • Connect the electrical connector to the ambience lighting.
    • Install the driver side ambience lighting.
    • Install the 4 clips.
    • Install and tighten the 2 screws.

      Torque  : 0.8 Nm 

  8. NOTE: Repeat this step for the other side.
    • Install the instrument panel side trim.
    • Install and tighten the 5 screws.

      Torque  : 1.5 Nm 

    • Install the passenger side lower trim.
    • Make sure the 11 clips are correctly installed.
    • Install and tighten the 4 inner screws.

      Torque  : 3.5 Nm 

    • Install and tighten the outer screw.

      Torque  : 1.5 Nm 

    • Install the 3 clips.
    • Install the driver side inner trim.
    • Install the passenger side upper trim.
    • Make sure the 11 clips are correctly installed.
    • Install the driver side outer lower trim.
    • Make sure the 4 clips are correctly installed.
    • Install the driver side upper trim to the instrument panel.
    • Make sure the 2 clips are correctly installed.
  14. NOTE: Repeat this step for the other side.
    • Install the 2 studs.
    • Install the instrument panel side trim.
    • Make sure the 6 clips are correctly installed.
    • Install the instrument cluster lower trim.
    • Install the 4 clips.
    • Repeat the above substeps for the remaining instrument cluster lower trim.
  16. Install the IDMA. 

    Refer to: INTERACTIVE DISPLAY MODULE 'A'

  17. Connect the 12 V system.

    Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT

  18. Reposition the steering column into the original location.
  19. If a new component has been installed, use JLR  approved diagnostic equipment to configure. SRO 858808 Instrument Panel Cluster - Conventional - Update - Replace - ECU to be claimed separately.
