Brake Booster (G2174346): Installation

The following step(s) applies to: 

All vehicles

    • Install the brake booster.
    • Connect the brake booster vacuum hose to the brake booster.
    • Install and tighten the 4 nuts.

      Torque  : 25 Nm 

    • CAUTION: Make sure that a new brake pedal plastic pin is installed.

    Attach the brake booster push rod to the brake pedal.

    Renew Part: Brake booster to brake pedal pin Quantity: 1  .

    The following step(s) applies to: 

    Right-hand drive vehicles

  1. WARNING: Make sure that the area around the component is clean and free of foreign material.
    • Install the brake pipes.

    Torque  : 17 Nm 

    The following step(s) applies to: 

    Left-hand drive vehicles

  2. WARNING: Make sure that the area around the component is clean and free of foreign material.
    • Connect the brake pipes to the Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU).

    Torque  : 17 Nm 

  3. CAUTION: Make sure that the wiring harness is correctly routed.
    • Install the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
    • Install and tighten the 2 nuts.

    Torque  : 9 Nm 

  4. Install the startup battery tray.

    Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY TRAY .

    The following step(s) applies to: 

    All vehicles

  5. Install the brake master cylinder.

    Refer to: BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER .

  6. Install the windshield wiper motor assembly.

    Refer to: WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR .

  7. Install the instrument panel lower trim panel.

    Refer to: INSTRUMENT PANEL LOWER TRIM PANEL .

  8. Connect the startup battery ground cable.

    Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT .

  9. Bleed the brake system.

    Refer to: BRAKE SYSTEM BLEEDING .

    The following step(s) applies to: 

    Vehicles with manual transmission

  10. Bleed the clutch hydraulic system.

Refer to: CLUTCH SYSTEM BLEEDING .
