Rear Disc Brake: Overview

Each caliper is mounted to the rear wheel knuckle with two bolts.

The brake pad wear sensors are connected in series and connected to the Body Control Module/Gateway Module (BCM/GWM). If the thickness of one of the brake pads connected to a wear sensor decreases to a predetermined limit, a message is sent to the Instrument Cluster (IC)
