Transmission Cooling - Project 8 (G2231218): Operation
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2019 Jaguar XE. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Fluid from the Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) pump in the automatic transmission flows through the feed hose and pipe to the ATF cooler. The ATF then flows through the ATF cooler, and the return hose and pipe, to the sump of the automatic transmission.
The engine coolant flows through a dedicated section of the engine cooling radiator. The left end tank of the radiator is partitioned and directs the cooled engine coolant direct to the ATF cooler. The engine coolant passes through the ATF cooler and exits the ATF cooler into the radiator lower hose.
