Removal And Installation: Installation

NOTE:
- This step only applies if the original front cover is to be installed.
- Using a suitable tool, remove the oil seal.
Remove and discard the crankshaft front seal.

Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1628
CAUTION: Do not over tighten the crankshaft front seal. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the vehicle.

NOTE: This step only applies if the original front cover is to be installed.
- Install the crankshaft front oil seal.
Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1628

Renew Part: Crankshaft front oil seal.
- Position the engine front cover.
- Install the special tool as illustrated.
Special Tool(s): 303-1433

- Secure the 4 bolts using the illustrated sequence.
  Torque Specification: 12 Nm
- Secure the remaining bolts using a diagonal sequence.
  Torque Specification: 12 Nm
- Remove the special tool.
  Special Tool(s): 303-1433
- Install the front left accessory drive belt pulley.
  Torque Specification: 48 Nm
- Install the center accessory drive belt pulley.
  Torque Specification: 25 Nm
- Install the crankshaft pulley.
  Refer to: Crankshaft Pulley .
Connect the battery ground cable.
Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
