Rear Bumper - SPORTBRAKE : Removal
- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: LIFTING .

NOTE: Repeat the procedure for the other side.
Remove the rear wheels and tires.
Refer to: WHEEL AND TIRE

NOTE: Repeat the step for the other side.
Release the wheel arch liner.

NOTE: Repeat the step for the other side.
Remove the screw.

NOTE: Right side only.
Disconnect the electrical connector.
Release the electrical connector from the bracket.
Remove the 2 lower bolts from the rear bumper.

NOTE: Repeat the step for the other side.
- Release the tailgate weatherstrip.
- Remove the tailgate trim finisher.
Remove the 2 upper bolts from the rear bumper.

NOTE: Repeat the step for the other side.
Release the rear bumper on the both sides.

CAUTION:
- Make sure to protect the paintwork.
- Take extra care not to damage the clips.
Remove the rear bumper.

NOTE: Only carry out the following step(s) if the new component is to be installed.
- Disconnect the 3 electrical connectors.
- Release the rear bumper harness on the right side.
- Disconnect the 3 electrical connectors.
- Release the rear bumper harness on the left side.
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors.
- Remove the rear bumper harness.

CAUTION: Take extra care not to damage the clips.
Remove the rear parking aid sensors.

NOTE: Repeat the step for the other side.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove the hands-free tailgate upper sensor assembly.

NOTE: Repeat the step for the other side.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove the hands-free tailgate lower sensor assembly.

NOTE: Repeat the step for the other side.
Remove the hands-free tailgate module.
