Wheel Knuckle - Vehicles With: Air Suspension (G2225271): Installation

NOTE: Only do the following step if a new wheel knuckle is to be installed.
Install the rear wheel bearing to the wheel knuckle.
Refer to: WHEEL BEARING .

WARNING: This step requires the aid of another technician.CAUTION: Make sure that the wheel hub and halfshaft mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.
- Install the wheel knuckle assembly.
- Install a new upper control arm to wheel knuckle nut and bolt.
Renew Part: Upper control arm retaining nut and bolt Quantity: 1
Torque
Stage 1: 60Nm
Stage 2: 60°
- Install a new lower control arm to wheel knuckle bolt.
Renew Part: Rear lower arm to knuckle nut and bolt Quantity: 1
Torque
Stage 1: 110Nm
Stage 2: 60°

CAUTION: Make sure the air spring is correctly located on the lower control arm.

CAUTION: Make sure to counter hold the ball joint.
- Attach the stabilizer bar link.
- Install and tighten the nut.
Renew Part: Stabilizer bar link retaining nut(s) Quantity: 1 .
Torque
Stage 1: 40Nm
Stage 2: 45°

- Install the 2 lower control arm links.
- Install the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.
Renew Part: Rear lower control arm nut and bolt Quantity: 2
Torque
Stage 1: 48Nm
Stage 2: 60°
-
- Attach the tie-rod to the wheel knuckle assembly.
- Install the nut and bolt.
Renew Part: Tie-rod nut and bolt Quantity: 1
- Install the shock absorber lower nut and bolt.
Renew Part: Shock absorber nut and bolt Quantity: 1 .
Torque : 170Nm
- Install the height sensor link arm.

CAUTION: Make sure that the components are clean and free from corrosion and foreign material.
- Install the rear wheel speed sensor.
- Install the wiring harness support bracket.
- Install and tighten the 2 bolts.
Torque : 9Nm

- Reposition the brake caliper wiring harness.
- Install and tighten the bolt.
Torque : 9Nm
-
- Install the brake disc heatshield.
- Install and tighten the 3 bolts.
Torque : 9Nm
- Install the brake disc.
Refer to: BRAKE DISC .

CAUTION:
- Do not use air tools to tighten the halfshaft nut. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the halfshaft.
- Make sure the halfshaft is correctly located in the wheel hub.
Install and fully tighten the halfshaft nut removed in the removal steps.
Torque : 170Nm

- Remove and discard the halfshaft nut.
- Install and tighten a new halfshaft nut.
Renew Part: Rear halfshaft nut Quantity: 1
Torque
Stage 1: 175Nm
Stage 2Loosen: 90°
Stage 3: 100Nm
Stage 4: 90°
- Install the rear wheel and tire.
Refer to: WHEEL AND TIRE .
- Using Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, pressurize the air suspension system.
Refer to: AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM DEPRESSURIZE AND PRESSURIZE .
