Instrument Panel Cross-Car Beam (G2244200): Installation

NOTE: Only do the this step if the component was previously removed.
- Install the instrument panel harness to the cross-car beam.
- Secure the 21 clips.
- Install the 2 ground strap screws.

NOTE: Only do the this step if the component was previously removed.
- Install the steering column to the cross-car beam.
- Install the 4 screws.
Torque: 25Nm
- Secure the 2 clips.

NOTE: Only do the this step if the component was previously removed.
- Install the climate control unit.
- Install and tighten the 5 screws.
Torque: 15Nm
- Connect the 5 electrical connector.
- Secure the clip.

WARNING: The components may be heavy or awkward to handle. The assistance of another technician will be required.
- With assistance, install the cross-car beam.
- Install and tighten the 4 screws.
Torque: 25Nm

- Install the 2 brackets.
- Install and tighten the 2 nuts.
Torque: 25Nm
- Install the center supporting tubes.
- Install and tighten the 4 bolts.
Torque: 25Nm
- Install and tighten the 2 screws.
Torque: 10Nm

CAUTION: Install new O-ring seals.NOTE: Make sure that the grommets are correctly seated.
- Connect the 2 A/C pipes.
- Install and tighten the bolt.
Torque: 5Nm
- Connect the 2 coolant hoses.
- Install and tighten the climate control unit retaining bolt.
Torque: 25Nm

CAUTION: Make sure that a new bolt is installed.
Connect the steering column lower shaft and tighten the new bolt.
Renew Part: Steering column intermediate shaft upper bolt Quantity: 1 .
Torque: 25Nm

NOTE: If equipped.
Install the bracket to the cross-car beam.
- Install and tighten the screw.
Torque: 5Nm

- Install and tighten the ground strap nut.
Torque: 2Nm
- Secure the 2 clips.
- Connect the 4 electrical connectors.
- Install and tighten the ground strap nut.
- Install the instrument panel.

- Connect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: 12V SYSTEM DISCONNECT .
- Refill and bleed the climate control system and electric drive unit cooling system.
Refer to: CLIMATE CONTROL COOLING SYSTEM DRAIN AND FILL .
- Recharge the A/C system.
Refer to: AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM RECOVERY, EVACUATION AND CHARGING .
