Wheel Knuckle - Vehicles With: Coil Suspension (G2224833): Removal
NOTE:
- This procedure contains illustrations for right side components, left side components are similar.
- Some variation in the illustrations may occur, but the essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- Using Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, set the Electric Park Brake (EPB) to the service position. Refer to: ELECTRIC PARK BRAKE RELEASE

General Equipment : Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment
- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: JACKING AND LIFTING .
- Remove the rear wheel and tire.
Refer to: WHEEL AND TIRE .

CAUTION:
- Do not use air tools to remove the halfshaft nut. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the halfshaft.
- Do not discard the nut. Keep it for use in the halfshaft installation procedure.
Remove the halfshaft nut.
- Remove the rear brake disc.
Refer to: BRAKE DISC .
- Remove the rear spring.
Refer to: SPRING .
- Remove the 3 bolts.
- Remove the brake disc heatshield.

CAUTION: Take extra care not to damage the wheel speed sensor during removal.
- Release the wheel speed sensor wiring harness.
- Remove the 2 screws.
- Release the wheel speed sensor.
- Remove the wiring harness bracket.
- Remove the bolt.
- Reposition the brake caliper wiring harness.
- Install special tool JLR-205-857 as illustrated.
Special Tool(s) : 205-857
- Release the halfshaft.

NOTE: This step requires the aid of another technician.
- Remove and discard the upper control arm nut and bolt.
- Remove the wheel knuckle assembly.

NOTE: Only do the following step if a new wheel knuckle is to be installed.
Remove the rear wheel bearing from the wheel knuckle.
