Rear Shock Absorber (G2219848): Removal
NOTE:
- This procedure contains illustrations for right side components, left side components are similar.
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

- Using Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, depressurize the air suspension system.
Refer to: AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM DEPRESSURIZE AND PRESSURIZE .
General Equipment : Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment
- Remove the rear wheel arch liner.
Refer to: REAR WHEEL ARCH LINER .

NOTE: Vehicles equipped with adaptive shock absorbers only.
Disconnect the electrical connector.
Using a suitable stand, support the lower control arm.
General Equipment : Transmission jack
Remove and discard the nut and bolt.
- Remove and discard the 2 upper shock absorber nuts.
- Remove the shock absorber.
Note the position of the components.

CAUTION: Inspect the components, replace if damaged or worn.NOTE: Only do the following step(s) if a new component is to be installed.
- Remove and discard the upper shock absorber nut.
- Remove the shock absorber boot and upper bracket.
- Remove the washer.
- Remove the shock absorber bumper.
