Instrument Panel (G2218368): Removal
WARNING:
- Take extra care when handling Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) components.
- To avoid accidental deployment, the restraints control module backup power supply must be depleted. Wait at least two minutes after disconnecting the battery ground cable(s) before commencing any repair or adjustment to the SRS, or any component(s) adjacent to the SRS sensors. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
- To minimize the possibility of premature deployment, do not use radio key code savers when working on the supplemental restraint system. Failure to follow this instruction may result in personal injury.
- Do not probe SRS electrical connectors.
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- Remove the floor console.
Refer to: FLOOR CONSOLE .
- Remove the touchscreen.
Refer to: TOUCHSCREEN .
- Install the driver side vent.
Refer to: DRIVER SIDE VENT .
- Remove the glovebox.
Refer to: GLOVEBOX .
- Remove the Steering Wheel Module (SWM).
Refer to: STEERING WHEEL MODULE .

Remove the passenger side face level vent.
Refer to: PASSENGER SIDE VENT .

NOTE: Repeat this step for the other side.
Remove the A-pillar trim panel.
Refer to: A-PILLAR TRIM PANEL .
- Remove the instrument cluster.
Refer to: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER .
- Remove the front door.
Refer to: FRONT DOOR .

CAUTION: Use a suitable plastic trim tool to release the component.
- Carefully release the 8 clips.
- Remove the instrument panel center speaker grille.
Disconnect the 3 electrical connectors.
- Remove the screw.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Using a suitable magnetic tool, remove the lower bolt.

NOTE: Make a note of the routed position of the wiring harness prior to removal.
- Disconnect the 6 electrical connectors.
- Release the 3 wiring harness clips.
- Release the Air Ionizer hose.
- Remove the 10 screws.

CAUTION: Make sure the wiring harness and electrical connectors are not damaged during this operation.
- Feed the wiring harness through the instrument panel to aid the removal of the component.
- With assistance, remove the instrument panel.

NOTE: Only do the following step(s) if a new component is to be installed.
- Remove the 8 nuts.
- Remove the passenger airbag.

CAUTION: Take extra care not to damage the Head Up Display (HUD) lens when removing or installing the component.
- Remove the 4 screws.
- Remove the Head Up Display (HUD).

NOTE: Note the orientation of the component prior to removal.
- Remove the 4 screws.
- Remove the instrument panel ducting manifold.
- Remove the 13 screws.
- Remove the instrument panel ducting.
- Release and remove the Passive Entry Transceiver module.
- Remove the 7 screws.
- Remove the instrument panel center speaker.
- Carefully release the 3 clips.
- Remove the defrost vent trim panel.
Release and remove the 2 Bluetooth®/WiFi transceivers.
