Instrument Cluster
The Instrument Cluster (IC) receives a permanent power supply from the startup battery via the Rear Junction Box (RJB). The High Speed (HS) Controller Area Network (CAN) Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems bus and HS CAN chassis systems buses are also connected to the IC which communicates with other control modules.
The IC provides the ground path for the Electric Steering Column Lock (ESCL). Voltage for the ESCL is provided by the Body Control Module/Gateway Module (BCM/GWM). The steering wheel switchpack inputs are sent to the IC via the Local Interconnect Network (LIN) input. Other vehicle sensors are connected to the BCM/GWM which processes the signals from the sensors and passes them to the IC on the HS CAN chassis bus.
The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) receives the Ambient Air Temperature (AAT) signal. The PCM processes and sends the information to the HVAC Control Module unit which sends the signal to the IC.
