Spring (G2223950): Removal
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: JACKING AND LIFTING .
- Remove the rear wheel and tire.
Refer to: WHEEL AND TIRE .
Release the rear suspension height sensor link arm.
Use a suitable stand to support the lower control arm.
General Equipment : Transmission jack
Remove and discard the lower control arm to wheel knuckle nut and bolt.
- Remove and discard the tie-rod to wheel knuckle nut and bolt.
- Release the tie-rod from the wheel knuckle assembly.
Remove and discard the 2 integral link nuts and bolts.

CAUTION: Make sure to counter hold the ball joint.
- Remove and discard the nut.
- Release the stabilizer bar link.

CAUTION: Make sure that during the release of the wheel knuckle assembly, the halfshaft will not be released from the rear Electric Drive Unit (EDU).
- Remove and discard the bolt.
- Release the wheel knuckle assembly.
Remove and discard both lower control arm to subframe nuts and bolts.

CAUTION: Make sure that during the release of the wheel knuckle assembly, the halfshaft will not be released from the rear Electric Drive Unit (EDU).
- Position the wheel knuckle away from the lower control arm.
- Carefully lower the lower control arm to release the spring.
- Remove the spring.
