Vehicle Dynamic Suspension (G2200040): Operation: Diagnostics
The Chassis Control Module (CHCM) can store Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) which can be retrieved using the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) approved diagnostic equipment. The diagnostics information is obtained via the diagnostic connector (J1962) which is located below the instrument panel, above the driver's foot pedals.
The J1962 allows the exchange of information between the various control modules on the bus systems and the JLR approved diagnostic equipment. This allows the fast retrieval of diagnostic information and programming of certain functions using the JLR approved diagnostic equipment.
Fault Messages
The air suspension has 2 methods which it can use to inform the driver of a fault in the air suspension system:
- The air suspension control warning indicators.
- The Instrument Cluster (IC) message center.
If the CHCM suffers a major failure and there is no air suspension control, all the ride height selection switches will be displayed as unavailable.
If a fault occurs a message appropriate to the fault severity will be displayed on the message center.
