Transmission To Power Transfer Unit Connecting Sleeve Seal (G2046678): Removal

NOTE: Some variation in the illustrations may occur, but the essential information is always correct.

Raise and support the vehicle using a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: LIFTING .
Remove the transfer case.
Refer to: TRANSFER CASE .

Using a center punch and hammer, pierce a hole in the seal at the 12 O'clock position.

Screw a 2.5 x 15 mm self-tapping screw, a maximum of 2 turns into the input shaft seal and remove the seal using a suitable tool.

Clean the seal register and thoroughly inspect for damage.
