Transfer Case - V8 S/C 5.0L Petrol: Operation: Diagnostics

If a transfer case fault occurs the driver is informed with the message 'RWD ONLY TRACTION REDUCED' displayed in the Instrument Cluster (IC) message center.

The nature of the fault can be diagnosed using the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) approved diagnostic equipment which reads the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).

The nature of the fault can be diagnosed using the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) approved diagnostic equipment which reads the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) stored in the Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM) memory.

The JLR approved diagnostic equipment will detect electrical faults related to the electric hydraulic pump motor.

NOTE: The Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) approved diagnostic equipment cannot detect mechanical faults. For example, the multiplate clutch stuck in the open or closed position, broken chain or low transmission fluid level.
