Spring - INGENIUM I4 2.0L Diesel/INGENIUM I4 2.0L Petrol/TDV6 3.0L Diesel/V6 S/C 3.0L Petrol (G1899818): Removal
CAUTION:
- To avoid damage to the Constant Velocity joint (CV) or CV boot, do not allow the halfshaft to hang.
- Nuts and bolts must be tightened with vehicle at normal ride height
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: LIFTING
- Remove the rear wheel and tire.
Disconnect the suspension height sensor.
Using a suitable hydraulic stand, support the lower arm.
- Disconnect the shock absorber from the wheel knuckle.
- Discard the nut.
- Disconnect the toe link from the wheel knuckle.
- Discard the nut and bolt.
- Remove the integral link.
- Discard the nuts and bolts.
- Disconnect the stabilizer bar link from the lower arm.
- Discard the nut.

CAUTION: Take extra care when handling the assembly. Failure to follow this instruction might result in damage to the CV or the CV boot.
- Disconnect the wheel knuckle from the lower arm.
- Discard the nut and bolt.

CAUTION: Only compress the spring enough to remove from the vehicle. Over compressing the spring may result in damage to the spring.
- Slowly lower the hydraulic stand.
- Install the special tool to the spring.
Special Tool(s): JLR-204-854
- Carefully compress the spring.
- Remove the spring and special tool from the vehicle.

NOTE:
- Only complete this step if a new spring is being installed.
- Note the measurements between the coils on the spring.
Remove the special tool from the spring.
