Low Pressure Fuel Pump Assembly (G2781091): Removal

WARNING:
- Wait for a minimum of 1 minute after the engine has stopped before carrying out any repair to the fuel system.
- Avoid flames, sparks or lighted substances.
- Place the vehicle in a well ventilated, quarantined area and arrange ' No Smoking/Petrol Fumes' signs about the vehicle.
CAUTION:
Before disconnecting any components, make sure the area is clean and free from foreign material. When disconnected all openings must be sealed.
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- Always follow the petrol fuel system health and safety precautions, when carrying out any repairs to the fuel system.

- Release the fuel pressure.
Refer to: FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE
Open the fuel flap and remove the fuel filler cap.
- Disconnect the 12V system.
Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
- Release the second row seat cushion from the 3 retaining clips.
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors.
- Remove the second row seat cushion.
Remove the Low Pressure (LP) fuel pump access cover.

CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping fuel.NOTE: If Fuel Fired Booster Heater (FFBH) is equipped.
Disconnect the FFBH fuel line.

CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping fuel.NOTE: If FFBH is not equipped.
Cut the top from the fuel tank drain port.
- Connect the special tool onto the fuel tank drain port.
Special Tool(s): 310-154
- Connect the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) approved fuel retrieval and storage system to the vehicle in accordance with the manufactures instructions.
General Equipment: Fuel retrieval and storage system
- Connect the special tool to the JLR approved fuel retrieval and storage system.
- Use the JLR approved fuel retrieval and storage system, to partially drain the fuel tank.
- Disconnect the special tool from the fuel tank drain port, and the JLR approved fuel retrieval and storage system.
- Disconnect the JLR approved fuel retrieval and storage system from the vehicle.
- Connect the special tool onto the fuel tank drain port.

CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping fuel.
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors from the LP fuel pump assembly.
- Disconnect the fuel line from the LP fuel pump assembly.
Use the special tool to remove the LP fuel pump retaining ring.
Special Tool(s): 310-123

NOTE: Note the position of LP fuel pump before removal.
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors from the LP fuel pump assembly.
- Disconnect the in tank fuel line from the LP fuel pump assembly.
- Disconnect the fuel vapor pipe from the LP fuel pump assembly.
- Remove the LP fuel pump assembly from the fuel tank.
