Low Pressure Fuel Pump Assembly (G2781091): Installation

  1. CAUTION: A new O-ring seal is to be installed.

    Install the LP  fuel pump new O-ring seal.

    Renew Part: Fuel pump O-ring seal Quantity: 1 . 

    • Install the LP  fuel pump assembly into the fuel tank.
    • Connect the 2 electrical connector to the LP  fuel pump assembly.
    • Connect the in tank fuel line to the LP  fuel pump assembly.
    • Connect the fuel vapor pipe to the LP  fuel pump assembly.
    • Position the LP  fuel pump assembly to the noted position.
  2. Use the special tool to install the LP  fuel pump assembly retaining ring.

    Special Tool(s): 310-123 

    • Connect the fuel line to the LP  fuel pump.
    • Connect the 2 electrical connectors to the LP  fuel pump.
  3. NOTE: If FFBH  is not equipped.

    Install the sealing cap to the fuel tank drain port.

  4. NOTE: If FFBH  is equipped.

    Connect the FFBH  fuel line.

  5. Install the LP  fuel pump assembly access cover.
    • Install the second row seat cushion.
    • Connect the 2 electrical connectors.
  6. CAUTION: Make sure the fuel tank has enough fuel to submerge the LP  fuel pump assembly pickup before connecting the battery. Failure to following this instruction could result in damage to the LP  fuel pump assembly.
    • Connect the JLR  approved fuel retrieval and storage system to the vehicle in accordance with the manufactures instructions.

      General Equipment: Fuel retrieval and storage system 

    • Refill the fuel tank with the recovered amount of fuel.
    • Disconnect the JLR  approved fuel retrieval and storage system from the vehicle.
    • Install the fuel filler cap and close the fuel flap.
  7. Connect the 12V system.

  8. Bleed the fuel system.
