Fuel Tank (G2501608): Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2023 Jaguar F-Pace and 2022 Jaguar F-Pace. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. CAUTION: Inspect the retaining clips, replace if damaged.
    NOTE: If equipped.
    • Install the FFBH  fuel pump outlet line.
    • Secure the FFBH  fuel pump outlet line to the 3 clips.
  2. CAUTION: Inspect the retaining clips, replace if damaged.
    NOTE: If equipped.
    • Install the FFBH  fuel pump inlet line.
    • Secure the FFBH  fuel pump inlet line to the 4 clips.
  3. CAUTION: Inspect the retaining clips, replace if damaged.
    • Install the fuel line.
    • Secure the fuel line to the 4 clips.
  4. CAUTION: Make sure that the blanking caps is removed.
    • Use the transmission jack to install the fuel tank.

      General Equipment: Transmission jack 

    • Connect the breather hose to the fuel tank.
    • Install the 2 fuel tank retaining brackets.
    • Install and tighten the 4 fuel tank bolts.

      Torque  : 25 Nm 

    • Install the fuel tank heatshield.
    • Install and tighten the 4 fuel tank heatshield fasteners.
    • Install and tighten the fuel tank heatshield nut.

      Torque  : 7 Nm 

    • Install the 2 aero shields.
    • Install and tighten the 2 nuts.

      Torque  : 5 Nm 

  7. CAUTION: Make sure that the blanking caps is removed.

    • Connect the fuel hose to the fuel tank.
    • Tighten the hose clamp.
  8. CAUTION: Make sure that the blanking caps is removed.

    Connect to the FFBH  fuel pump the 2 fuel pipes.

  9. CAUTION: Make sure that the blanking caps is removed.

    Connect the fuel line.

  10. Install the rear driveshaft.

    Refer to: REAR DRIVESHAFT - INGENIUM I4 2.0L DIESEL AJ21/INGENIUM I4 2.0L PETROL/INGENIUM I6 3.0L DIESEL/INGENIUM I6 3.0L PETROL

  11. CAUTION: Make sure the fuel tank has enough fuel to submerge the fuel pump pickup before connecting the battery. Failure to following this instruction could result in damage to the fuel pump.

    Refill the fuel tank with the amount recovered during the fuel tank drain procedure.

  12. Connect the 12 V system.

    Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT

  13. Bleed the fuel system.

    Refer to: FUEL SYSTEM BLEEDING
