Brake Pads - V8 S/C 5.0L Petrol (G2264159): Installation

WARNING: Do not use compressed air to clean brake components. Dust from friction materials can be harmful if inhaled.
Clean the brake caliper anchor plate using brake cleaning fluid.
Material: Brake Cleaner (3U7J-2C410-AA)

WARNING: If the brake caliper piston seal is damaged a new brake caliper must be installed.
Inspect the brake caliper piston and slide pin seals for damage.

CAUTION: Do not allow dirt or foreign liquids to enter the brake fluid reservoir.
- Remove the access cover from the cowl panel.
- Remove the cap from the brake fluid reservoir.

CAUTION: As the piston is pushed back into the brake caliper housing, the brake fluid level in the reservoir will rise. Do not allow the reservoir to overflow.
Using a piston retraction tool, fully retract the brake caliper piston.
Special Tool(s): 206-080

CAUTION: Make sure that the brake pads are installed in the correct orientation.
Install the brake pads.
- Install the brake caliper.
- Install and tighten the 2 slide pins into the brake caliper.
Torque: 28 Nm
- Install the 2 dust caps.
- NOTE: Only do this step if the component was previously removed.
- Install the brake pad wear sensor.
Renew Part: Brake pad wear sensor cable Quantity: 1 .
- Connect and secure the electrical connector.
- Secure the wiring harness to the 3 clips.
- Secure the 3 grommets.
- Install the brake pad wear sensor.

NOTE: The brake pad wear sensor is installed on the right side only.
- Connect the brake pad wear sensor to the brake pad.
- Secure the 2 grommets.
- Connect the electrical connector to the Electric Park Brake (EPB) actuator.
Install the anti-rattle spring.
Depress the brake pedal several times, check the fluid level in the brake fluid reservoir and top-up to the 'MAX' mark with brake fluid, if necessary.
- Install the cap to the brake fluid reservoir.
- Install the access cover to the cowl panel.
- Install the wheel and tire assembly.

- Connect the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) approved diagnostic equipment and disable the EPB maintenance position.
