Rear Bumper - V8 S/C 5.0L Petrol (G2263083): Removal

NOTE:

This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.

Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: LIFTING .
NOTE: Repeat the procedure for the other side.

Remove the rear wheels and tires.

NOTE: Repeat the step for the other side.

Remove the 2 screws from the wheel arch liner.
NOTE: Repeat the step for the other side.

Remove the 2 screws.

Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors.

Release the 2 wiring harness clips from the rear bumper.

- Remove the 7 bolts.
- Remove the rear valance.
NOTE: Take extra care when releasing the clips.

- Release the tailgate weatherstrip.
- Remove the 2 rear quarter panel mouldings.

Remove the 2 rear bumper upper bolts and 2 fasteners from the rear bumper.

Release the rear bumper on both sides.
CAUTION: Make sure to protect the paintwork.

NOTE: Take extra care when releasing the clips.

With assistance, remove the rear bumper.
NOTE: Only do the following step(s) if a new component is to be installed.

- Disconnect the 4 electrical connectors.
- Release the 6 clips.
- Release the rear bumper wiring harness on the right side.

- Disconnect the 4 electrical connector.
- Release the 6 clips.
- Release the rear bumper wiring harness on the left side.

- Remove the rear bumper wiring harness.

- Remove the 4 parking aid sensors.
- Remove the 2 park assist sensors.

- Remove the 6 bolts.
- Remove the rear fog lamps.

- Remove the rear bumper reflectors.
