Spring - Vs S/C 5.0L Petrol (G2263804): Installation

  1. NOTE: Note the alignment of the spring to the lower control arm.

    Install the coil spring.

    1. Using the suitable equipment carefully lift the rear lower control arm.

      General Equipment: Transmission jack 

      • Install the new rear lower control arm nut to the wheel knuckle.

        Renew Part: Rear lower control arm nut and bolt  Quantity: 1  .

      • Install and tighten the rear lower control arm nut bracket bolt.

        Torque: 5 Nm 

      • Install and tighten the new rear lower control arm bolt to the wheel knuckle.

        Torque 

        Stage 1: 110 Nm 

        Stage 2: 60° 

    • Install the stabilizer bar link.
    • Install and tighten the new stabilizer bar link nut.

      Renew Part: Stabilizer bar link retaining nut(s)  Quantity: 1  .

      Torque 

      Stage 1: 40 Nm 

      Stage 2: 45° 

    • Install the 2 integral links.
    • Install and tighten the 2 new integral link nuts and bolts.

      Renew Part: Integral link nuts and bolts  Quantity: 2  .

      Torque 

      Stage 1: 48 Nm 

      Stage 2: 60° 

    • Secure the wheel speed sensor wiring harness to the lower control arm.
    • Install and tighten the new tie-rod nut and bolt to the wheel knuckle.

      Renew Part: Tie-rod nut and bolt  Quantity: 1 

      Torque 

      Stage 1: 80 Nm 

      Stage 2: 60° 

    • Install and tighten the new shock absorber nut and bolt to the wheel knuckle.

      Renew Part: Shock absorber nut and bolt  Quantity: 1  .

      Torque: 170 Nm 

    • Install the suspension height sensor link to the lower control arm.
    • Remove the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) approved equipment supporting the rear suspension.

      General Equipment: Transmission jack 

  2. Using the JLR approved 4 wheel alignment equipment, check the wheel alignment and adjust if required.
