Turbocharger (G2110433): Installation

Install a new gasket to the catalytic converter.
Renew Part: Catalytic converter to turbocharger gasket Quantity: 1 .
Install a new turbocharger to cylinder head gasket.
Renew Part: Turbocharger to exhaust manifold gasket Quantity: 1 .

- Install the turbocharger.
- Install and tighten the 4 new nuts in the sequence illustrated.
  Renew Part: Exhaust manifold to turbocharger nuts Quantity: 4 .
  
  Torque
  
  Stage 1: 10 Nm
  
  Stage 2: 25 Nm
Install and tighten a new catalytic converter to turbocharger clamp.
Renew Part: Catalytic converter to turbocharger clamp Quantity: 1 .

Torque : 12 Nm
Tighten the 3 catalytic converter lower bolts.
Torque : 24 Nm
Tighten the 2 catalytic converter upper bolts.
Torque : 24 Nm
Tighten the catalytic converter bracket to engine bolt.
Torque : 24 Nm
Connect the electrical connector to the turbocharger.
Connect the charge air cooler inlet pipe.
CAUTION: Bolts must be tightened in the sequence illustrated.

- Install the turbocharger lower heatshield.
- Install and hand tighten bolts E and F.
- Install the turbocharger upper heatshield.
- Install and hand tighten bolts C and D.
- Install the turbocharger to cylinder head bracket.
- Install and hand tighten bolts A and B.
CAUTION: Bolts must be tightened in the sequence illustrated.

- Tighten bolt A.
  Torque : 10 Nm
- Tighten bolt B.
  Torque : 10 Nm
- Tighten bolt A.
  Torque : 22.5 Nm
- Tighten bolt B.
  Torque : 22.5 Nm
- Tighten bolt C.
  Torque : 9 Nm
- Tighten bolt D.
  Torque : 9 Nm
- Tighten bolt E.
  Torque : 9 Nm
- Tighten bolt F.
  Torque : 9 Nm
- Install 2 new O-ring seals to the turbocharger oil return pipe.
  Renew Part: Turbocharger oil return pipe seals Quantity: 2 .
- Install the turbocharger oil return pipe.
- Install and tighten the bolt.
  Torque : 11 Nm
- Install 2 new O-ring seals to the 2 turbocharger coolant pipes.
  Renew Part: Turbocharger coolant pipe O-ring seal Quantity: 2 .
- Install the 2 coolant pipes.
- Install and tighten the bolt.
  Torque : 12 Nm
CAUTION: Bolts must be tightened in the sequence illustrated.

NOTE: This step is only applicable if a new heatshield is installed.

- Install the catalytic converter heatshield.
- Install and hand tighten bolts G, H, J and K.
- Tighten bolt G.
  Torque : 9 Nm
- Tighten bolt H.
  Torque : 9 Nm
- Tighten bolt J.
  Torque : 9 Nm
- Tighten nut K.
  Torque : 9 Nm
CAUTION: Bolts must be tightened in the sequence illustrated.

NOTE: This step is only applicable if the original heatshield is installed.

- Install the catalytic converter lower heatshield.
- Install and hand tighten bolts G and K.
- Tighten bolt G.
  Torque : 9 Nm
- Tighten nut K.
  Torque : 9 Nm
- Install the catalytic converter upper heatshield.
- Install the clip.
- Install and hand tighten bolts H, L and J.
- Tighten bolt H.
  Torque : 9 Nm
- Tighten bolt L.
  Torque : 9 Nm
- Tighten bolt J.
  Torque : 9 Nm
- Install the bracket.
- Install and tighten the bolt.
  Torque : 12 Nm
- Install the 3 wiring harness clips.
- Install the 2 HO2S to the 2 clips.
- Connect the 2 electrical connectors.
Install the electrical connector heatshield and the 2 fasteners.
- Install the oil supply pipe.
- Install the 2 new seals.
  Renew Part: Oil supply pipe sealing washers Quantity: 2 .
- Install and tighten the new oil supply pipe bolt.
  Renew Part: Turbocharger oil supply pipe banjo bolt Quantity: 1 .
  
  Torque : 18 Nm
Install the secondary bulkhead center panel.
Refer to: SECONDARY BULKHEAD CENTER PANEL - INGENIUM I4 2.0L PETROL .
Vacuum fill the cooling system.
Refer to: COOLING SYSTEM PARTIAL DRAINING AND VACUUM FILLING .
Connect the 12 V system.
Refer to: SPECIFICATIONS .
