Glove Box (G2164555): Removal
CAUTION:
Use a suitable trim tool.
NOTE:
- This procedure contains illustrations for left hand drive vehicles, right hand drive vehicles are similar.
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT .
- Release the 3 clips.
- Remove the instrument panel lower trim.
Remove the 2 glove box bottom screws.
- Release the floor console rear surround trim.
- Disconnect the 4 electrical connectors.
- Remove the floor console rear surround trim.
- Remove the screw.
- Reposition the floor console left side trim panel.
- Remove the screw.
- Reposition the floor console right side trim panel.
Open the glovebox.
Remove the trim panel.
Remove the instrument panel center carrier screw.
- Release the wiring harness clip.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
Remove the floor console rubber mat.
- Remove the 2 floor console upper trim screws.
- Release, but do not remove floor console upper trim.
- Disconnect the 3 electrical connectors.
- Remove the floor console upper trim.
- Remove the 4 Transmission Control Module screws.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove the Transmission Control Module (TCM).
- Release the instrument panel center trim panel.
- Disconnect the 12V accessory socket electrical connector.
- Remove the instrument panel center trim panel.
- Remove the 2 instrument panel center carrier bolts.
- Remove the 5 instrument panel center carrier screws.
Remove the 2 instrument panel center carrier screws.

CAUTION: Take extra care not to damage the component.
Remove the instrument panel center carrier.
Remove the instrument panel side trim.
Remove the 2 glovebox side screws.
Remove the 4 glovebox screws.
Remove the access cover.
Remove the 2 glove box inner screws.

CAUTION:
- Make sure the wiring harness and electrical connectors are not damaged during this operation.
- Take extra care not to damage the surrounding components.
- Release the glovebox.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove the glovebox.
