Oil Pan Extension (G1850994): Installation

NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new oil pan extension.

Torque : 8 Nm
CAUTION:
- Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.
- Use only a plastic scraper when removing the sealing material.
NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new oil pan extension.

Apply RTV sealant (Loctite 5901G or Loctite 5900) in a 2-3 mm diameter to the areas shown, and install the oil pan within 7 minutes.
NOTE:
- This step is only necessary when installing a new oil pan extension.
- Tighten the bolts in the indicated sequence.

- The bolts can only be used 3 times, mark the bolts with a center punch. If 2 punch marks are visible, discard the bolts.
- Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown.
NOTE:
- Make sure that the crankshaft is not rotated.
- Make sure the crankshaft and flexplate mating faces are clean before installation.

Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1304

Renew Part: Flexplate bolts Quantity: 10 .

Torque

Stage 1: 45 Nm

Stage 2: 90°

- Apply RTV sealant to the crankshaft pulley keyway.
- Make sure that the RTV sealant is applied in a 2 mm diameter bead.
- Make sure that when the RTV sealant is applied that the RTV sealant is level with the top of the keyway.
NOTE: Make sure to clean the threads in the end of the crankshaft and that the crank nose is free of any foreign materials.
