ECO Data System
The ECO data is located at the bottom of the message center.
When selected, the ECO data system provides the following options:
- Impact on fuel - displays the impact that electrical loads are having on fuel economy.
- Driving style - displays feedback and scoring to rate driving efficiency.
- Advanced trip - displays detailed historic trip computer information.
- ECO tips - displays hints and tips on how to improve efficiency.
For guidance an instantaneous feedback rating is provided via the trip computer in the message center. This rates the current driving style rating against efficient driving principles and shows differing colored bars depending on current driving style.
The bars display ratings for the following, and suggestions are made in the driving tips function on efficient driving:
- Throttle usage - accelerate smoothly and progressively. Lift off the accelerator.
- Vehicle and engine speed - keep engine rpm low, accelerate and decelerate smoothly, cruise at lower speeds.
- Braking - apply lightly and smoothly, lift off accelerator to slow vehicle, anticipate traffic flow ahead to avoid sudden braking.
The bars change color from red, through amber, to green with increasingly efficient driving.
The ECO data system only monitors driver inputs. Any automatic inputs from the vehicle, for example, throttle and brake force applied by the Adaptive Speed Control system will not be measured. Data not being measured and recorded will be grayed out in the message center.
